11th January, 2017
Armthorpe Welfare manager Michael Carmody has strengthened his coaching team at the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side by bringing in the experienced Ben Chapman.
37-year-old Chapman is a left full back who began his career at Grimsby Town where he made 21 first team appearances.
He then went on to play regularly in the top tiers of non-league football for the likes of Boston United where he was club captain, Alfreton Town, Northwich Victoria, Nuneaton Borough, King's Lynn, Harrogate Town and Frickley Athletic.
Recent seasons have seen him playing in the NCEL for Appleby Frodingham, Hall Road Rangers and Bottesford Town.
Carmody said: "Chappy is a guy I've known since school and his knowledge of the game is top class having spent most of his career playing league and senior non-league football for the likes of Grimsby Town and Boston United.
"He's a welcome addition to the coaching team."
