Burst Pipes Force Three Postponements
24th December, 2010
Three games scheduled for Monday in the KoolSport Northern Counties East League have been postponed due to burst water pipes at the grounds.
Winterton Rangers' KoolSport NCEL Premier Division match at home to Hall Road Rangers on Monday has been called off as considerable damage has been done to the West Street ground, with the changing rooms being one of the areas affected.
As the necessary repairs cannot be carried out before the weekend, it has been agreed to call the game off.
Bridlington Town's match with Scarborough Athletic has also been cancelled due to similar problems at the Neil Hudgell Law Stadium.
And, in Division One, Louth Town's clash with Grimsby Borough is also off due to water damage to their bar, committee room, offices and changing rooms.
Hallam's 150th Anniversary celebration match with Sheffield, due to be played on Boxing Day, has also been called off because of the recent bad weather.
A new date has been pencilled in for Good Friday, the 22nd of April, 2011.
Meanwhile, all other matches in the KoolSport League due to be played on Monday will be subject to pitch inspections carried out in the normal manner on the morning of the match.
There will be no early postponements for this round of games as they are 'derby' matches and so, with the small amount of travelling required, any decision should be left as late as possible.
