Statement re: Fixtures on Monday 3rd January
27th December, 2010
A statement has been released by KoolSport Northern Counties East League chairman David Morrall following a number of enquiries regarding the possibility of rearranged games for next Monday (3rd January) following today's postponed matches.
It says: "The League Rule 8.14 allows the League to compel clubs to play at a minimum of six days notice.
"However, the League has no desire to do that given the awareness of the clubs' workload in putting on a home game at such short notice.
"In view of this, given the very demanding timescale that the League and The Football Association would face any club wishing to rearrange a game for this date must advise the League of their wishes by Tuesday 28th December, 17.00 hours.
"This timescale is needed in order that adequate time is available for all arrangements to be made and the following points should be noted:-
"(a) All games must be mutually agreed between the two clubs involved including a kick off time which must be adhered to once notified with no changes allowed.
"(b) Once a game is confirmed it will be treated as an unfulfilled fixture if subsequently postponed by a club other than for an unfit pitch.
"In closing may I thank all clubs for their patience and understanding in this very difficult period and request full co-operation in these attempts to rearrange games at very short notice which will provide a difficult operating period for the authorities concerned.
"Please note that all games applied for will be provisional pending the availability and confirmation of match officials."
