14th November, 2010
Three KoolSport NCEL sides booked their place in the Third Round of the FA Vase with victories at the weekend.
Tadcaster Albion had the most comfortable afternoon as they won 4-0 at Notts Senior League side, Forest Town.
All the goals came in the first period - three of them in the opening thirteen minutes - with Mike Braithwaite striking twice whilst Tom Woollard and Graeme Whitehead also got onto the scoresheet.
Leeds Carnegie went through in extra time at home to Marske United.
Kyle Hawthorne and Danny Keen made sure there was no replay needed as they progressed 4-3.
Staveley Miners Welfare defeated league rivals Pickering Town 1-0, Jamie Smith scoring in extra-time to see the Division One side through at the expense of their Premier Division visitors.
The other all-NCEL encounter ended in a 2-2 draw as Scarborough Athletic had to come from behind twice to deny Armthorpe Welfare victory at Queensgate.
Bill Law cancelled out Craig Morley's opener for the away side before a Ryan Blott penalty was needed in extra-time after James Walker had regained the lead for Armthorpe.
They meet in the replay on Tuesday night whilst Eccleshill United host Runcorn Town on that evening after their initial clash was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Thackley and Winterton Rangers bowed out of the competition at home against holders Whitley Bay and St Helens Town, respectively, whilst Barton Town Old Boys lost at Bustleholme and AFC Emley were defeated at Dunston UTS.
In the Premier Division, leaders Farsley AFC were beaten 4-2 at Nostell Miners Welfare, a victory that moves the hosts up into seventh spot.
A Marc Thompson hat-trick condemned Farsley to their second straight defeat.
Goals from Martin Bowles and Nathan Parker either side of half-time secured a 2-0 win for Long Eaton United at Hallam.
Long Eaton climb to ninth in the table whilst their hosts drop to the bottom after Liversedge's 1-1 draw at Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

But, Tom Garrick ensured the spoils were shared with a strike after the interval.
And, Maltby Main came from 2-0 down with twenty minutes remaining to win 3-2 at home to Arnold Town.
Handsworth moved to within three points of the top three in Division One after their 3-2 victory at Teversal, Dan Smith grabbing two of their goals.
They go above Askern Villa and Yorkshire Amateur who drew 1-1.
Louth Town were 2-1 winners at Appleby Frodingham whilst Worsbrough Bridge Athletic won 3-1 at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Glasshoughton Welfare beat bottom side Brodsworth Welfare by a single goal and it was 0-0 between Bottesford Town and Grimsby Borough with Mark Anderson missing a penalty for the hosts.
