NCEL 2010/11 Match Review #42
30th January, 2011
Parkgate returned to the top of the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division on Saturday with their game being one of only five that survived a hard frost overnight.
William Senior and Keir Hannity struck either side of half-time at Arnold Town to give them a 2-0 victory which sees them leapfrog above Farsley AFC, two points ahead and with two games in hand.
There was a remarkable game at Mill Lane where Pickering Town defeated visitors Bridlington Town 5-4 to climb up into seventh.
Tom Adams put the Pikes ahead after three minutes before Craig Hogg levelled midway through the first period.
The hosts then raced into a two-goal lead with Adams' second and a strike from Lyle Hillier before Hogg brought the Seasiders back into it by the break.
He then completed his hat-trick and Scott Phillips made it 4-3 for Bridlington on 64 minutes.
But, Pickering fought back with goals from Darren Clough and Adams for his hat-trick to take the points.
Bridlington remain fourth but have a number of games in hand over the top two sides.
Liam Wilkin also took home the matchball as he netted all Winterton Rangers' goals in their 3-1 home win over Brighouse Town.
In Division One, Leeds Carnegie were 3-1 winners at Grimsby Borough whilst goals from Jon Impey and Dean Foley saw Hemsworth Miners Welfare become 2-0 victors at Bottesford Town.
