Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2019/20 #15

29th September, 2019

Penistone Church have leapt to the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after Andrew Ring's hat-trick helped them to a 5-1 home victory over Eccleshill United on Saturday.

Jordan Coduri added the rest on a triumphant afternoon for Ian Richards' side whilst Eccleshill's consolation came early in the second half through Nicky Boshell.

Penistone replace Bridlington Town who drew 0-0 at Knaresborough Town and the Seasiders were also overtaken by Grimsby Borough and Hemsworth Miners Welfare who both won on their travels.

Borough defeated Maltby Main 4-1, a Lewis Bemrose double along with one each from Adam Drury and Caine Winfarrah securing the win whilst Maltby got an injury time strike from Bradley Morton.

And, Jason Davies netted a second-half hat-trick for Hemsworth in a 5-1 victory at bottom side Athersley Recreation after Nash Connolly and Adam Wilson had put them two-up in the opening quarter-of-an-hour with Lee Garside halving the deficit on 50 minutes.

Staveley Miners Welfare move up to fifth with a 5-2 win at Thackley, Matthew Parkin's brace and goals also for Jonathan Froggatt, Robson Doolan and Michael Burke settling the clash in the Trojans' favour.

Barton Town and Bottesford Town picked up much-needed home wins to move them further away from the relegation zone.

Thomas Waudby's double helped ensure a 3-0 victory over Albion Sports whilst Bottesford thrashed AFC Mansfield 5-0, Jack McMenemy's opener added to by two from Jacob Fenton and one each for Dayle Hutson and Daniel Boulton.

And, it was a point apiece for Garforth Town and their visitors Goole AFC, Adam Priestley claiming the draw for the hosts after Kieran Mortimer had given the Vikings the lead on the half-hour.

Two Premier Division games were postponed due to waterlogged pitches, Yorkshire Amateur's trip to Liversedge and Silsden's home clash with Handsworth falling victim to heavy overnight rain.

Skegness Town extended their lead at the top of Division One to three points with a 3-0 win at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Gary King, Leigh Hutchinson and George Hobbins netting for the Lilywhites.

Despite a double from Shay Evans-Booth, their nearest rivals at the start of play, Retford FC, lost a little ground with a 2-2 draw at Armthorpe Welfare, Luke Williams and Joshua O'Neil with the home side's goals.

Selby Town go above Retford and Winterton Rangers into second following a comfortable 5-0 win at Swallownest with Joshua Walker, Christopher Jackson, Casey Stewart, Daniel Walker and Charlie Clamp netting for the Robins.

Bruno Holden grabbed an equaliser for Winterton at Ollerton Town in a 1-1 draw after Benjamin Partridge had given the hosts a twentieth minute lead.

Campion's 5-0 victory at basement side East Hull lifts them up into fifth, Leon Hurles-Brook setting them on their way with two goals in the first half before Myles Foley, Andrew McCreadie and Aidan Day added to the scoreline in the final fifteen minutes.

Jordan Turner struck four as Hallam won 5-0 at Brigg Town whilst there were 1-0 home victories for Dronfield Town and Glasshoughton Welfare.

Mark Fereday was the hero for Dronfield as they dispatched Nostell Miners Welfare and Glasshoughton moved out of the bottom two with their win that was secured by a 50th minute goal from Joshua Vamplew against North Ferriby.

And, Niall Doran popped up in stoppage time to snatch a point for Rossington Main in a 2-2 draw at Hall Road Rangers.
