Eccleshill United and Worsbrough Bridge Athletic picked up much-needed victories to move up the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division and Division One tables, respectively, in midweek. Both climbed four places to fifteenth with Eccleshill the biggest winners as they won 4-1 at home to
Bottesford Town on Wednesday.
Christopher Lever gave the Eagles a first-half advantage that was doubled early in the second period through Lewis Sugden before Jack McMenemy brought the visitors back into the game with twenty minutes remaining.
But, any hopes of a revival for Bottesford were snuffed out by two late goals by Jonathan Irving to give the hosts the victory over the Poachers who drop to seventeenth.
Worsbrough, meanwhile, twice came from behind on Tuesday to prevail 3-2 at
Harrogate Railway Athletic who remain in thirteenth spot.
The Rail took the lead on fifteen minutes through Toby Harris but parity was restored by Kieran Hirst before Joe Jagger's penalty restored the home side's superiority as the start of the second half.
But, with their hosts reduced to ten men, the Briggers levelled once more with Hirst grabbing his second on 72 before Kyle Wordsworth got what proved to be the winner six minutes later.
Two First Round matches were played in the West Riding County Cup with
Thackley progressing at the expense of league rivals
