Staveley to Unveil New Stand Plans
1st April, 2011
Staveley Miners Welfare will unveil plans at tomorrow's game for the building of an all-seater South Stand at Inkersall Road.
The plans are being submitted to the local council for planning permission next week and it is hoped that the necessary approval will be secured sometime in June.
That would allow building work to commence and be completed in time for the new 2011/2012 season in August.
The design of the scheme is such that the pitchside dugouts will not get in the way of any spectator's vantage point.
It is hoped that it will house a minimum of 230 new seats, taking the seating capacity at Inkersall Road to 450, in addition to the covered standing areas for over 500 spectators.
Disabled wheelchair access has also been catered for within the design of the new stand.
To promote the club and its sponsors' drive to support environmentally friendly design and construction methods, the new stand will have a "sedum living green roof" that are currently becoming very popular with designers and councils.
The design drawings will be on display in the clubhouse at tomorrow's KoolSport NCEL Division One clash with Louth Town.
And, it is hoped that the club's supporters will put forward suggestions on how to make the new stand even more spectator friendly.
