Chris Lill memorial match this weekend
8th July, 2019
This Saturday (13th) sees the inaugural match for the Chris Lill Trophy when Toolstation NCEL Division One side Swallownest host Premier Division visitors Maltby Main at The Nest.
Kick off is 3pm and admission is ?3 for all with under 16s free when they are with a paying adult.
Half of the gate receipts will go to Rushey Meadow Home for Children with moderate to severe Learning Difficulties in Sheffield where Chris received respite care until his death eighteen months ago just before his 26th birthday.
A club spokesperson said: "We would like to pay special thanks to chairman Wilf Race and everyone at Maltby Main FC for their fantastic support for this afternoon's fixture.
"The Chris Lill Memorial Trophy has kindly been donated by Mike of 'Black Square Team Wear', and the Chris Lill Memorial 'Man of Match' Trophy was generously donated by Jordan of 'Vision 2000'.
"And, we are hoping that Rushey Meadow, who provided Chris with such fantastic care, will be represented in person to make the presentations at the end of the game.
"I'm sure that both teams will take the game seriously as part of their pre-season preparations, and provide the spectators with an encounter worthy of the occasion."
