Denton moves to Sandygate
6th May, 2020
Hallam have announced the appointment of Craig Denton as manager, following his departure from Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Barton Town.
He has been named as the successor to Stephen Whitehead who left Sandygate earlier in the week with a club statement saying: "Craig has a proven track record of success and shares our aspiration to build upon the great foundations that we have in place to push the club forward.
"He will have the support of assistant managers Rob Poulter and Wayne Thompson, first team coach Ryan Hopkinson and goalkeeping coach James Humphreys."
Denton, who led Worksop Town to the Premier Division title and promotion to the Northern Premier League, said in a statement: "I am delighted to join Hallam FC as their manager.
"This historic club has a vast history but also a firm foundation in the community and a family friendly ethos."
Explaining his decision to leave Barton to join the Division One club, he added: "My work and personal circumstances have changed.
"However, when the call came from Hallam FC, a club in my home city, it was too good an opportunity to turn down.
"Hallam has a fantastic set-up both on and off the pitch. It is an extremely well-run and well-managed set up behind the scenes with a very supportive chairman and committee and something that I really want to be part of.
"I am looking forward to improving on the great set up already in place at Hallam and I am excited to see where we can take the club."
