Armthorpe Delight at Doncaster Friendly
26th May, 2011
Armthorpe Welfare have announced their first pre-season friendly and it does not come much bigger than the visit of Doncaster Rovers.
The Championship side are continuing the tradition of supporting local non-league football by taking part in these friendly matches and manager Sean O'Driscoll will be bringing his entire first team squad, injuries permitting.
This will be a repeat of the friendly played in July 2009 when Rovers came out 3-2 winners, courtesy of a late penalty.
The game drew Armthorpe's highest attendance in recent years with nearly 1,200 people coming to see the game and the club will be hoping for a repeat this time around.
With this in mind, ticket prices have been kept very low with the cost for an adult at ?6, and children and over 65s only ?4.
Tickets will be available from the Doncaster Rovers ticket office, and from The Welfare Ground in the weekends leading up to the game. It will also be possible to pay on the gate.
Before the main game, there will also be a short 30 minute game with a Rovers Legends team taking on a team made up of the general public.
People will also be able to pay on the day for a go at the Crossbar Challenge which will take place at half time, with cash prizes.
