Thackley Unveil Management Duo
31st May, 2011
At their presentation evening on Saturday night, Thackley revealed their new management team of Vince Brockie and Sean Regan.
The pair had impressed the Thackley committee at the interviews held that week with their wealth of experience as managers and their qualifications as coaches.
Allied with the pair's ambitious plans for the future, the club had no hesitation in offering them the chance to take over, following the departure of Dave Morgan at the end of last season.
Sean is already well known at the club having been first team coach under previous managers John Boyle and Billy Fox.
After a brief spell as manager of Liversedge, Sean took up a full time post with Championship side Scunthorpe United as assistant Academy manager before returning to Thackley as first team coach with Dave Morgan.
Sean is currently Football Development Officer for Bradford District Council, a role that he combines with working for the FA as an assessor of coaches.
Vince Brockie comes to Thackley with a proven pedigree in professional football as a player with Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Guiseley where he played in the side that reached the FA Vase Final at Wembley.
As a manager, he took Harrogate Railway to the Second Round of the FA Cup against Bristol City and, whilst in charge of Bradford Park Avenue, they achieved second place in the UniBond Premier, narrowly missing promotion when they lost in the Play-Off Final.
Vinnie currently coaches at the Barnsley Academy and, until the end of season, was manager of the reserve team at Guiseley.
The committee at Thackley would like to thank all of the people who showed their interest in the manager's job and especially those who took the time to prepare for and attend the interviews.
They say that the overall standard was exceptionally high and the club wishes them all the best in the future.
