Norman steps down as Hemsworth chairman
13th November, 2019
Hemsworth Miners Welfare have announced that they have "reluctantly accepted" the resignation of club chairman Richard Norman.
A statement by the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side on social media said that it was with immediate effect, adding: "We would like to thank Richard for the commitment and input to the club over the past couple of seasons and, in particular, the role he has played with the club extension and links with the Wells Academy and Wakefield Trinity Ladies.
"I am sure you will all agree that he will leave a legacy at the club.
"We are now actively seeking a new chairperson at the club. The club is an exciting place to be at the moment, both on and off the pitch, and represents a real opportunity for someone to push the club to the next stage of the football pyramid.
"In the immediate future, the club will operate under a committee of volunteers with no interim chairperson appointed.
"The resignation of the chairman does not have an impact on the playing side of the club where we continue to push to finish as high as possible within the league this season with a promotion spot still the overall target for the season.
"Anyone interested, please get in touch with us for further information."
