Danville takes permanent charge of Hemsworth
10th January, 2020
Hemsworth Miners Welfare have announced that Luke Danville has been handed the role of first team manager on a permanent basis.
Along with Steven Jeff, Danville had taken over temporarily following the departure of Wayne Benn in November.
Three wins and three draws in their seven games in charge has seen the Wells move to within just points difference of top spot in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
A statement from the club said: "Danville has been instrumental in keeping the group together since Wayne left us and we look forward to seeing where the journey can take us."
Danville will take sole charge with immediate effect with Andy Hart becoming his assistant and Jeff taking on a coaching role.
Hemsworth say they were "overwhelmed by the volume and quality of applications received for the position", thanking everyone who showed an interest and adding that their decision came at the end of a "long thought process and analysis".
The news will come as a boost ahead of what is a potentially vital league encounter on Saturday when they welcome Staveley Miners Welfare to the Springfield Training MDC Stadium in a top-three clash.
