Swans act quickly to appoint new manager
6th May, 2020
Barton Town have moved quickly to find a successor to Craig Denton by appointing Rob Watson as their new manager.
Denton stepped down earlier in the week due to a change in work and personal circumstances that has seen him take a role closer to home with Toolstation NCEL Division One side Hallam.
Barton have thanked Denton for his time at the Swans where, having arrived in October, he steered the side away from a possible relegation battle into mid-table as they finished the aborted 2019/20 campaign in eleventh spot in the Premier Division.
His assistant Rob Watson has taken charge on a permanent basis and he has brought in Nathan Peat, a former Hull City player who was part of the famous FA Trophy winning North Ferriby United side in 2015, as his deputy.
Watson said: "I'm excited to get going and build on what we started last season."
