Proposed 2009/10 NCEL Constitution
31st May, 2009
The KoolSport Northern Counties East League Management Board has confirmed its proposed League constitution for the 2009/10 season.
Congratulations to Mickleover Sports who have been confirmed as being promoted to the UniBond League.
Brigg Town, who finished bottom of the UniBond League, have been reprieved from relegation following the resignation of Gresley Rovers so no team is coming down into the NCEL.
To maintain 20 clubs in our Premier Division only the bottom club, Eccleshill United, will be relegated with Brodsworth Welfare staying in the top flight and Scarborough Athletic and Rainworth Miners Welfare promoted from Division One.
At the League Management Board meeting last week, it was decided that, although we had received fifteen enquiries from clubs wanting to come into the League at Division One level, none could be accepted for various reasons.
Therefore, our Division One will consist of just 18 clubs next season - one less than in 2008/09.
