NCEL Match Review #42
11th January, 2009
Arnold Town moved up to second place in the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division but missed out on a chance of going level on points with the league leaders.
The Eagles are now two points behind Mickleover Sports after a 1-1 draw in their home match with Brodsworth Welfare that was played at Radford FC.
But, in what was the only match to beat the sub-zero temperatures on Saturday, they had to show great determination to get that point after their goalkeeper was sent off in the first twenty seconds.
Lee Broster was adjudged to have handled the ball outside of his area and seventeenth-placed Brodsworth then took advantage by breaking the deadlock through Stuart Slack on 20 minutes.
And, they looked to be heading for their second win on their travels until Brett Adams levelled matters with just ten minutes remain to preserve Arnold's unbeaten 'home' record.
