Hemsworth Welcome Back Cracknell
29th June, 2008
Legend Andrew Cracknell has rejoined Hemsworth Miners Welfare to work as joint manager alongside current boss, Paul Crapper.
The ex-Bridlington Town and Denaby United defender managed the club from 1995 to 2003, leading them to the West Riding County Amateur League Division One double in the 1996/1997 season.
He also picked up two Premier Division Cups in 1998 and 2002 whilst steering the club to three Sheffield Junior Cup Finals, winning it once in 1998.
He said: "It's great to be back in Football and especially back at the club I love."
Andy has had several offers to manage other local teams but he only wanted to get back into the game with Hemsworth.
Crapper said: "I approached Andy mainly for his experience at this level.
"Although I have managed the club for five years now, I realise that this season was going to be a massive challenge.
"But, it's now a challenge we are really looking forward to.
"We are expecting to name a couple of big signings shortly but we have quality throughout the squad.
"What is especially exciting is the youth coming through at the moment.
"It's buzzing at the club and we can't wait to get started."
