Tadcaster Fined By FA

A Football Association Regulatory Commission recently heard a series of charges concerning the administration of finances at Tadcaster Albion FC.

The Commission considered the following charges against Tadcaster Albion:

i) Pursuant to Football Association Rule E1(b) for a breach of Football Association Rule I.1(a). It is alleged that between August 2005 and November 2007 the Club failed to keep accounting records so as to disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the Club.

ii) Pursuant to Football Association Rule E1(b) for a breach of Football Association Rule I.1(d). It is alleged that between August 2005 and November 2007 the Club failed to prepare a Financial Statement verified by an independent, appropriately qualified accountant.

Or alternatively iii) pursuant to Football Association Rule E1(b) for a breach of Football Association Rule I.1(e). It is alleged that between August 2005 and November 2007 the Club, being a Club not owning gross assets exceeding ?10,000, failed to prepare a Receipts and Payments Statement.

Tadcaster Albion admitted the charges. The Commission fined the club ?500 of which ?450 is suspended and will be invoked if Tadcaster Albion fail to comply with FA Rule I within two months of the date of notification of sanction (10 July 2008).

The Commission also heard a charge of misconduct against Tadcaster Albion Club Treasurer Paul Kendrew for a breach of FA Rule E3 ? improper conduct in operation of club accounts.

Mr Kendrew admitted the charge. The Commission fined Mr Kendrew ?500, of which ?450 is suspended and will be invoked if Tadcaster Albion fail to comply with FA Rule I within two months of the date of notification of sanction.

Further, Mr Kendrew is to be suspended from all football and football activity for a period of 12 months, such suspension is suspended and will be invoked if Tadcaster Albion FC fail to comply with FA Rule I within two months of the date of notification of sanction.
