One In And One Out At Scarborough
2nd September, 2008
Scarborough Athletic have signed a goalkeeper but have seen one of their strikers depart.
Arran Reid, who is son of Seadogs reserve boss Jimmy Reid and is a former York City player, has joined the first team.
He played for York City from the youth set-up, having a loan spell at Stalybridge Celtic in 2005.
He signed pro in June 2006 but was released from his contract at York by mutual consent soon after.
Since then he has played for Gainsborough Trinity and Hucknall Town.
His arrival gives more competition for the number one jersey with Dave Bramley and Jon Hyde.
Meanwhile, striker Rob Petch has left to sign for UniBond club North Ferriby United.
He joined in pre-season from Hall Road Rangers, where he was the under 19s captain.
He made appearances for the first team in pre-season, and had scored twice for the reserves, but had four players in front of him for first team action in Ryan Blott, Rich Medcalf, Craig Hogg and Danny Gray.
