AFC Emley Scoop Seadog Award

3rd May, 2009

AFC Emley have been crowned with the Scarborough Athletic Fanzine's 'Away Day of the Season' award for the second consecutive year.

The West Yorkshire club, who won last season's inaugural trophy, again topped polls with 31% of the vote.

Matt Lawson, editor of the fanzine, said: "I am delighted to announce Emley as the worthy winners of this trophy.

"We won 6-1 at the Welfare Ground which was a great result and we were given a friendly welcome as always by the club.

"Many Boro fans were expecting Teversal to be up there as that is where we gained promotion to the NCEL Premier Division but it is Emley who came out on top."

Teversal were runners-up in the competition with 25% of the vote and the club's Fourth Round FA Vase trip to Bideford came in third with 14%.

The next issue of the fanzine is due out at the beginning of the 2009/10 season.
