Toyne Set For Double Dinno Capture

10th July, 2008

Dinnington Town boss Steve Toyne is poised to complete a double capture this week.

The Phoenix Park outfit are preparing for an onslaught on the KoolSport Northern Counties East League Premier Division next season.

Toyne is set to add Dean Conway, a centre forward from Sheffield side Outukumpu, and David Wardle, a keeper from Carlton United, to his squad after the pair impressed in Tuesday's 3-1 defeat of a Sheffield Wednesday XI.

The Town boss said: "Dean came on to score and looked very good. He's a big lad and built like the proverbial."

Last week, Toyne had revealed his desire to find a keeper, with Phil Rhodes' recovery from injury not going as hoped.

"We played David Wardle for the first half in Tuesday's friendly and he did well," said Toyne.

"He had no chance for the goal and, in all, looked very comfortable."
