Hallam Sign Ward From Local Rivals

5th August, 2008

Hallam FC have signed Rob Ward from neighbours Sheffield.

Rob is a big strong centre forward who has previously been the NCEL's leading scorer and has won the league before with Ossett Albion.

Manager Darren Bland said: "This is a real boost for us just before the campaign begins. To sign a player of Rob's quality and experience is fantastic!

"Rob is a proven goalscorer and I believe there aren't many better at this level at doing what he does. He will give us a completely different option up front.

"I've wanted to sign Rob for a while but things just never seemed to materialise. Finally, patience has paid off and we've got our man."

Hallam have also signed Richard Elson from Worsborough Bridge, Zach Law from Buxton, Wes Hill from Parkgate and Chris Wood from Wakefield.

Said Bland: "All these lads have come in and done ever so well in the friendlies and are going to give me a real headache with selection problems."
