Dinnington Start Fundraising On A High

2nd September, 2008

There was a great turnout for the first event to raise money for the Dinnington Town Sports Club Development Fund.

Town had great support when all the club's sides took part in the sponsored walk.

Chris Dearns, Dinnington Town's secretary, said: "Thank you to everyone who took part. It was a great turn out and everyone of our teams took part and I think those who did enjoyed the day.

"We had from under 6's right up to the Senior squad and a number of supporters from five-year-olds to pensioners also took part. It was a great sight to see.

"We hope to raise ?4,000 from the day. We had a great start even before the event began when a well-wisher donated ?500.00.

"This is our first event, we have 18 months in front of us where we will be aiming to generate as much money as possible towards the grants we need to develop the grounds and provide a much needed club house for Dinnington Town Sports Club.

"More events are to take place over the coming months and we are looking at race nights, a Sportsman's evening and Christmas Raffle."
