Brid Bid To Keep Management Duo
9th March, 2009
Bridlington Town's management team have shocked the club by saying they intend to leave the Seasiders at the end of the season.
Tim Hotte and Gary Allanson gave chairman Peter Smurthwaite a resignation letter before Saturday's 6-0 win at home to Arnold Town.
The players were told of their decision after the match.
An official statement on the Bridlington Town messageboard says that the chairman "has refused to accept the resignation and a brief, but fruitful meeting between both parties was held after the game."
It continues: "Tim and Gary are 100% behind Brid Town and have shown full commitment to the club and have managed the side in a totally professional manner with skill, enthusiasm, knowledge, ability and flair.
"However, the decision was brought about due to various uncertainties and a lack of off field structure within the club which would it is felt aid further progression for the club.
"It is hoped that further meetings and other possible avenues can be explored to bring about a satisfactory conclusion to the matter.
"No further comment at this stage, but as matters arise and decisions are made the loyal fans of Bridlington Town will be informed through all the media channels."
The club's messageboard has already been inundated with pleas from fans for the duo to stay.
