Allanson is New Brid Boss
29th May, 2009
Bridlington Town are pleased to announce that Gary Allanson has been appointed the new manager of the club.
Club captain Phil Harrison will be the new assistant manager.
After a time of great sadness for the club and personal loss for Chairman Pete Smurthwaite after the sudden death of his wife Marion, he is pleased to announce the new management team.
A club statement said: "Over the past few seasons the club has undergone enforced management changes which have been detrimental to both on field and off field fortunes.
"Pete Smurthwaite knew that in order to build on the success of last season and in order for the attractive and entertaining football played to continue that continuity and appointment from within was needed.
"It is hoped that due to the internal appointment and promotion that the playing staff from last season will stay with Bridlington Town for the new season.
"Helping to build on last seasons success and showing the excellent team spirit that the club showed during the 2008/09 campaign.
"Pete is delighted with both appointments and that Gary and Phil have taken on the challenges that lie ahead and is sure that they will both succeed.
"All at the club wish both Gary and Phil well and are sure that the club will have continued success for the future."
