Stacey Leaves Long Eaton

2nd June, 2009

Glyn Stacey has stepped down as joint boss of KoolSport NCEL Premier Division runners-up, Long Eaton United.

It leaves Mark Harvey in sole command, telling the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph: "Myself and Glyn have been joint managers for the last four years but he wants to be on his own now, so he has decided to move on.

"We are still good friends and I'm sorry to see him go but wish him all the best for the future.

"I will be carrying on and I am now looking for a number two."

Stacey added: "Mark wants to be number one, so I have stepped aside, rather than risk falling out over it.

"It was a very amicable split and Mark tried to persuade me to stay but I had made my mind up.

"I had some good times with Mark, at South Normanton Athletic and Long Eaton this season, but I just felt it was time for a change."
